My Labour Weekend

My Labour Weekend.

 

 On the 26th of October 2020 I went to Wildfire at Princess Wharf in Auckland, New Zealand. 

Me, my aunt, siblings and cousin were sitting down at our table for half an hour because my uncle and grandpa went to pick up my grandma.  

When my family arrived we started eating. The first course was fish then the second course was vegetables like broccoli and potatoes. When the lady came around with the beef she gave us a green and red block. If you don't know what the green and red is for I will tell you now. 

Whenever you flip it to green the chef will keep on bringing meat to your table. If you flip over to red they will stop bringing you meat but when  you want more meat you flip back over to green. 

The meat I had was pork, beef, lamb, chicken, sausage and cow. The lady kept on bringing salad,  muscles, salmon, vegetables and more fish. 

When we turned the block over to red I went 2 laps around the buildings. I ran 2 metres two times. 

When I came back inside we had more meat. After 10 minutes I was full so I went chasing my brother and cousin because they were on two motorbikes so I had to tell them to jump off the motorbike. When we were walking back I saw my sister riding on an electric scooter called Jump. we all took turns on it. 

When it was my turn I wanted to see how fast it could go and it said 15 mph. After half an hour we stopped playing on it. My uncle scanned it and we left it. 

We went back inside to grab my stuff because we were leaving. We were taking a family photo but then a man asked if we would take the photo so that my aunty would be in it. 

We said ‘Thank you’ to him and then went to our cars. I went with my grandpa because I couldn’t fit in my mum’s car. 

When I arrived home I felt tired and kind of excited for school. Have you ever been to Wildfire in Auckland before?

Xavier's Recount Writing Term 4 22nd of October 2020.

 On the 20th of September 2019 me and some teammates went to Aston’s house. I was the first person to come to my friend’s house. When I came Lincoln came to the house. Me and Aston were playing Call Of Duty.

First  I played on the trampoline in the thunderstorm with my other teammate Eli. We played wrestling. I won against him. When we went back inside the house we were all wet but lucky that there was a heater. 

When I was playing call of duty Aston's step cousin Cooper, came to play with us.  First we played tackling in the lounge like lions hunting for prey. I was tackling Cooper and the other three boys were me and Cooper down. But I had revenge.  

Afterwards we were tired running around and playing with the Nerf guns, So we decided to play on the Xbox. I was around 7:30pm and Stewart went to buy us domino's pizza for dinner. 

When they said we could eat, my friend and I ate one whole pizza. I was drinking the Sparkling Duet when the  other four boys were drinking down the 2 bottles of Mountain Dew. 

I was stuffed so I layed down on the couch playing with Lincoln on the call of duty game. I am actually good at playing call of duty when I’ve never played it.  

Later on my Dad came to the house to drink with the other dads. When the dads left we went crazy like rolling down on the stairs and tackling each other hard as. 

Cooper was just on his ipad playing games while we were being naughty. 

Finally at 9:00pm my mum and brothers came to pick me up. I grabbed my bag and said goodbye and thank 

you to everyone but not my dad because he is coming back to his house and he did nothing to me. 

When I was in the car I said hello to everyone and told them what I did. I thought about that day  and in my opinion I think it was awesome and tiring.

Whānau and family time Think of a time when you did something special with your whānau or family. Write to recount that time.  On the 21th of September 2020 me and my family went to the Stonefields Restaurant at night time. We went there to celebrate my Grandma’s Birthday. At 6:00pm I was waiting for my uncle to come  pick me and my Grandma up to take us to the restaurant. When my uncle arrived at the house we drove to Stonefields restaurant.   First we arrived at our destination. I saw my cousins, aunts,  uncles, my papa, my siblings, my parents and my grandpa’s sister. When I went inside I saw the table we were sitting at. We were sitting at a table next to a window that had a nice view of the road. I decided to sit next to my dad and uncle because I wanted a nice view to watch the game from the table I was sitting at. I was watching the Warriors play against the Manly Sea Eagles. When the game finished I was happy because the Warriors won against the Sea Eagles.   After, a lady that works at the restaurant came to us and asked which drink she wanted. I said that if I could have a coke. My dad said ‘Could I have a one speights jug please’. My uncle said ‘Could I have a Heineken  please’. Then when my aunt asked she said ‘Could I order 2x coke jugs’.  The 2 jugs of coke were for my family, her and me.  When a woman and man came with our drinks the other man asked for our order. The adults ordered like the Adult menu but me, my cousins and siblings ordered... 1x Sticky BBQ ribs with chips, 5x mini hot dogs with chips and one large chip.   When it was 20 minutes later  the adult food came and after two more minutes the kids' food came. When all of our food came we prayed and then ate. My sticky ribs were delicious and sticky. The BBQ sauce on my hand went on to my chip because I was picking up the chips and eating it with my sticky fingers.  It tasted yummy with BBQ sauce but then I decided to use the Tomato sauce because I wanted to try how it tasted with the ribs. When I finished my ribs my aunt asked if I wanted her ribs so I just took one because I was nearly full of ribs. My dad  asked if I wanted some chips because I finished mine so I ate some.    Later on I drank my drink and I went outside because I wanted to feel the cold breeze. I saw my family through the window and so I had an idea. I was going  to scare them. I scared my cousin, aunt, mum and uncle.  Finally after 20 minutes we paid the check and went to the car park. I went to my grandparent’s home to sleep there because I wanted to sleep there. When I arrived there I fell asleep. I felt tired, full, happy and excited that we went to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. The End.

Hello, my name is Tapa. I was made in Ra’īatea, Tupaia wrapped me around his body and traded me. Māori people wanted to trade tapa’s more than they wanted English clothes. 

Creative Writing Term 4 2020.

          Story. 

Hello, I am called a Tapa. My habitat is to always make sure that Tupaia wears me for important meetings. One day I was just hanging until something wasn’t right, I heard a cannonball go off. 

When it went off it gave me the chills. After a few minutes I heard shouting, woman screaming, heard swords making sounds and sharp poles stabbing people. I felt that I was in a nightmare. After another few minutes my home was destroyed by some man who looked like Captain Cook but had a different face. 

They were using swords and guns to destroy my people. I was so confused and scared! I wanted to challenge him to a wrestling match. I was picked up by a man who looked like he was ready for a Halloween party because he was wearing a silly hat, funny clothes, tight  jeans and long shoes that did not look like the size of his feet. 

   

He was carrying me to a boat called the Endeavour until he was stabbed by my people. I was buried by the sand because the ocean blew me into wet sand. I couldn’t hear anything because I was under sand. I was under the sand for 251 years. It was really boring and I really wanted to see the sun. 

One day I heard big stomping and I closed my eyes because I thought that it was a ghost. But it wasn’t a ghost, It was a person. I didn’t care about seeing the person, I cared about seeing the sun. 

They put me in this big thing that had four wheels and with a tube on the back. That was strange but I didn’t care that I was ready to go to Tupaia. Tupaia, where are you? After a few hours I then realised that he died 251 years ago. I was angry and sad that he had passed away.

 On the weekend I was put in a brown bag and then I went in a van called Courier Post or Post Haste? When it was Wednesday I finally arrived at my destination.  I was opened up in Term 4 on the 12th of October 2020. I was thinking that I was in Hawaii. But then I saw a boy dressed up in a grey t-shirt, grey pants and short hair. When he pulled me out completely I saw a bunch of Lions hungry for Lunch Time. I thought they were going to eat me. 

 But they were waiting until it was 1:00, Phew. I said in my head that this is not Hawaii, This is the zoo. I wonder why I didn’t hear any Elephants? Maybe it’s just a hungry lion zoo? 

When someone touched me I tried to remind them to use hand sanitiser before touching me. They put me in the ocean but it had two legs on the right and two legs on the left and a top but that was blue. Oh it was a table.

After 10 minutes I saw my brother next to me on a card. But it was actually a photo of me, I do actually look handsome! When I was looking at a screen that had a keyboard connected to it my photo was taken by someone and I never saw him ever again or maybe I haven’t seen him for 10 minutes. 

I was put in the bag again and I was so tired of those sleepy lions because they made me tired. Now I am going to go to sleep. The End. I wrote about this because the tapa was my object and I had to write a story about it. Did you know that the endeavour is in Newport Harbor in Rhode Island? Have you ever written about an object that belonged to the people who were at the island? Today I have found this fun!
