Amazing Plants from the Native and Pacific Nations.

Last week Twp Whānau presented their tree to Saint Pius X Catholic School. When we presented our work we were putted into groups. I was with LisiateJabez and Puna. Apparently Glen Innes Primary School was meant to come. Unfortunately they did not come.

That was okay because Dr. Jannie Van Hees came to support and watch. Our group found it very challenging at first but when the time came we were prepared. Twp Whānau found it very stressful,  but when group members supported they became confident! Here is my group presentation below!

Xavier's edicinal plants Medical problems and uses

WALT: Explain what Rongoā Māori is. Today for Reading I was matching the sickness names with the healing names but the healing is made out of Native plants from New Zealand. My goal for next time is to match more healing names with sickness! Have you seen a Harakeke face to face before? Here is my activity and video below!

Here are same of the ways you use the plants.
Koromiko-Chew the leaves.
Kōwhai-Drink the leaves juice.
Harakeke (Flax)-Use it like how you use aid healing.
Pohutukawa-Take out the nectar in the flowers.
Pūriri-gargled the leaves.
KawaKawa-Chew the leave.

Here is a video about my favourite tree.
