Current Events - 30/8/2021.

 Today for Literacy, I have been reading about 'Haiti Earthquake'. Something I found challenging was answering the true or false questions. Something I found easy was reading the article! Have you ever been to Haiti before? Here is my activity below! 

Haiti Earthquake. 30/8/2021.

The main group is Haiti citizens, Mexican military and American helpers. 

The key things are about Haiti battling a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

The writers also talk about other countries that have battled the Earthquake.

For example Japan battled a humongous Earthquake.  This event took place

in Haiti. This event took place on August 26th 2021.

Stealing Maru - 16th August 2021.

 Today for Literacy, I was reading about a story called Stealing Maru. The story was about Aitutaki taking the top of Maru or Arorangi from Puaikura. Something I found challenging was answering the questions.

Shrinking Elephants - Term 2 2021.

Today for Literacy, I learnt about the shrinking elephants. It is about researchers discovering about dwarf elephants so scientist used it's DNA to compare it with the elephants that live today. Did you know that dwarf elephants were real? My goal for next time is to learn more about animals! Have you ever been to Mediterranean? Here is my activity below!  

The main people or group were scientists and researchers that compared the dwarf Elephant with the Tusk Elephant. The key is about Elephants that travelled around the world and is about Elephants shrinking. This event took place in the Atlantic Ocean because that is where they think the dwarf Elephants were located. The event took place on 1st of July 2021.

 

Here are some words I did not understand! Glossary. 

Mediterranean - An ocean that is named after Mediterranean. 

Subsided - Something that becomes less violent and angry. 

Gradually - A situation that gradually improved.

Green Ghana. Wednesday, 7th July 2021.

 Today for Literacy, I was learning about Plants, Trees and Ghana. They were planting tree's for the air and environment. Did you know that is located in Africa? My goal for next time is to learn more about Ghana and how they plant their trees! Have you ever been to Ghana before? Here is my activity below!  

The main group of people were citizens of Ghana.  

The key event is about a group of people in Africa planting trees for

the environment.

It is also about Ghana which is a small country in Africa. 

The event took place in Ghana, Africa. The event took place on 17th of June 2021.

Jubilee - A special anniversary or event. 

Haphazard - Lacking any obvious  truth of organisation. 

Evaporation - A process of turning from liquid into spray. 

Reservoir - A supply of source.
