DLO-What is Statistics?

On the 17th of March 2021 I learnt about Statistics. Statistics is about collection, organisation, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. Example: Their are 25 people in Soccer, 10 people in Basketball and 30 people in Rugby Union. You put the numbers on a bar graph and you'll see that the height is different. Something I found hard was remembering what is Statistics. Something I found easy was making a DLO. Have you ever learnt about Statistics before? Today I found this fun!

Xavier's Gender Ground Rules Part 2.

On the 17th of March 2021 I read Gender Ground Rules again. I chose to do a different activity. Something I found difficult was answering the questions. Something I found easy was blogging this activity. Have you ever read the book called 'Gender Ground Rules' before? Today I found this activity exciting!

The Celebration Of Soul Friends Mass, Saint Patrick's Day and Ash Wednesday.

On the 17th of March 2021 Saint Pius X had a very special mass. This mass was  special because we celebrated three important occasions for our school. They are, St Patrick's Day, Soul Friends and Ash Wednesday. As we journey in the fourth week of lent, today we honour St. Patrick who is the patron saint of Irish people and the Holy Faith Sisters who started our school, more than sixty years ago, who were from Ireland. They Brought with them the beautiful idea of Soul Friends.

In the early Irish Church people chose someone wise to be their soul friend. This friend is a person they can talk to and share their experiences in life. It was introduced to us by the Holy Faith Sisters who started St. Pius X School more than 60 years ago. It is a beautiful relationship, where the older students look out for the younger and vice versa.

We had our Ash Wednesday ashes today because lock down has been happening a lot in Auckland, New Zealand.

St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland because he was the chosen one of God.

Here below is a picture of the whole school sharing lunch with their Soul Friend.
